How a CNG Kit Is Installed
Follow each step of a CNG conversion and see where every component is fitted in your car. Rotate, zoom and pan the model at any step.
The installation at a glance
- Step 01
Vehicle Assessment
We check the car, its engine and its boot space to plan where each CNG component will be fitted.
- Step 02
Mount the Bracket
A cylinder cradle is bolted through the boot floor, with reinforcement plates underneath.
- Step 03
Fit the Cylinder
The cylinder is lowered into the cradle and strapped down, and the valve is fitted to it.
- Step 04
Route the High-Pressure Line
A steel line runs from the cylinder valve along the underbody to the engine bay, clamped away from heat.
- Step 05
Install the Filling Receptacle
The refuelling connection is mounted in the engine bay and joined to the high-pressure line.
- Step 06
Mount the Pressure Reducer
The reducer is fitted near the engine, fed with high-pressure gas and connected to the coolant.
- Step 07
Fit the Injection System
The gas filter, injector rail and manifold nozzles are fitted and joined with low-pressure hose.
- Step 08
Connect the Electronics
The CNG ECU, sensors and changeover switch are wired into the car’s original engine management.
- Step 09
Fill & Leak Test
The system is filled through the receptacle to around 200 bar. Every joint is checked while the pressure holds steady.
- Step 10
Running on CNG
With the valve open, gas flows to the reducer, drops to low pressure and is injected into the engine. The car is road-tested and handed over.
