Stick to a Servicing Schedule

As a general guideline, most CNG kits benefit from a check-up roughly every 6 months or 10,000 km, whichever comes first, though the right interval can vary by vehicle and usage — check with your service center for what suits your specific kit. Skipping servicing is one of the most common reasons owners see reduced mileage or rough performance over time.

Watch for Early Warning Signs

Rough idling, hesitation when switching between petrol and CNG, a drop in mileage, or an unusual smell near the cylinder or engine bay are all signs worth getting checked promptly rather than waiting for the next scheduled service.

  • Rough idling or stalling on CNG
  • Difficulty switching fuels or the switch not responding
  • Noticeable drop in mileage over a short period
  • Any smell of gas, especially near the cylinder or boot area

Don't Ignore Leak Checks

Leak checks should be a standard part of every service visit, not an optional extra. A well-maintained system is a safe system — this is why we include leak and safety checks in every CNG servicing appointment.

Simple Driving Habits That Help

Avoid running the cylinder down to empty too frequently, get injectors and filters cleaned as recommended, and have your kit inspected before long trips. None of this takes much time, but it meaningfully extends the life of your components.
